US woman claims businessman Geoffrey Edelsten wooed her on online dating site
As Dr Edelsten's wife, Brynne, prepares to launch her reality TV series, Brynne: My Bedazzled Life, on Channel 7, her husband's lawyer confirmed the doctor met the woman online and paid for the Miami holiday.
The woman, from New Jersey, said Dr Edelsten sent her $2000, followed by $800 for a return plane ticket to Florida.
She says during the March weekend in Miami he showered her with expensive gifts, including a Louis Vuitton handbag, a Michael Kors watch and pocketbook, souvenirs from their hotel and expensive hotel day spa treatments.
When I spoke to him he told me he had separated from his wife, that they were living separate, louis vuitton outlet, that they were going to court, that they were getting a divorce.
But she says he then reported her to Florida police, claiming she had stolen a phone and money from him.
Dr Edelsten's legal representative, Michael Webb, yesterday confirmed the police report had occurred in March.
The blonde, 32, claims she encountered Dr Edelsten on the sugardaddyforme dating site in late February. They corresponded for about 10 days before he suggested they meet when he was next in the US.
"When I spoke to him he told me he had separated from his wife, that they were living separate, that they were going to court, that they were getting a divorce," she said.
She said she spent three days with Dr Edelsten at the Hard Rock Hotel on March 16, 17 and 18. His lawyer denied they stayed in the same room, stating Dr Edelsten stayed at another venue but visited the woman daily.
Both Dr Edelsten and the woman say the encounter was not physical.
"But if I had let it, it would have got physical," she said.
Dr Edelsten had left Australia in March after a domestic incident with Brynne, when police were called to their innercity apartment.
The Herald Sun has seen numerous emails between Dr Edelsten and the woman over a period of several months, and heard messages left by Dr Edelsten on the woman's mobile phone.
In April, Dr Edelsten denied he was active on the sugardaddyforme website, claiming an obsessed former lover had created the profile. Yesterday, Mr Webb confirmed Dr Edelsten had met the woman on a different dating site.
He said the woman owed Dr Edelsten up to $9000. The woman denies this.
He said the woman, who'd been asked to stop contacting Dr Edelsten, had bombarded him with calls and texts, forcing him to change his number in recent days.
